Description
6306 Bearing Puller – Aircooled VW Swing Axle Rear Bearing Tool
The FritzCP 6306 bearing puller is designed specifically for removing 6306 rear axle bearings from aircooled VW swing axles. Whether you’re working on a Type 1 Beetle, Ghia, Type 3, or certain Porsche 356 models, this tool delivers a secure, no-slip grip for fast, clean bearing removal. It’s purpose-built to protect threads and prevent damage—no improvising required.
How It Works:
Two-arm puller bites into the bearing, using your existing axle spacer as a fulcrum. The forcing screw stays centered and swivels to avoid thread damage. No slipping. No improvising. Just the right tool for the job.
Materials & Details:
- Arms cut from AR500 1/4” Steel Plate – tougher than Chromoly
- Forcing screw specifically sized to fit axle end
- Arms sanded and deburred raw steel. You can finish them how you like.
Replacement Arms:
The tips can deform under serious force. Replacement arms available. Grab an extra arm now to save shipping later if you work on these often.
Real-World Use:
This tool is built and sold under my name, no generic branding. Wicked Werks YouTube covered it in a how-to video: See it in action here. Fritz Tools is just how the Wicked Werks guy tagged it—this is my own product.
Fitment:
- VW Type 1 Beetle, Ghia, Type 3 (Crashbox, Split Case, Tunnel)
- Long and Short Splined Swing Axles
- Some Porsche 356
- Type 2 Small Nut RGB (except 7-ball bearing)
Note: Factory axle spacer required. Spacer not included.
