Fritz 44 Stock Distributor Puller Attachment
Model 1 – Flat Foot – Aluminum Body – 009 / 60s / 70s style (Most Universal)
Model 2 – Slant Foot – Cast Iron Body – 36hp/ 50’s Style
Model 3 – 40hp Big Cap 80mm Body ONLY
Introducing the Fritz 44 Distributor Puller Slide Hammer Attachment for Stock Style ACVW Dizzys. Now you can remove that stubborn distributor in minutes without damage. Arms are made of Strongest available AR500 3/8″ Thick Plate Steel. They have notches in the back side for zip ties or rubber bands to aid in holding arms into the dizzy. To keep them budget friendly, the arms are only deburred and lightly sanded. They are not coated and have some remnants of mill scale on them.
There are 3 Models to choose from.
Model 1
The 009s are also 65mm diameter but have a flat bottom, both the OG and aftermarket knockoffs. The other stock Aluminum body distributors (1500 Vac only short body, 1600 SVDA, 70s DVDA etc) are more touchy on puller placement. They can be curved, but have flat spot protrusions on them which you will have to locate the sweet spot so the flat foot hits those. Again, removing cap clips or tune up parts may be necessary to achieve this. But i felt a small inconvience given the alternative. So this is more of a Universal Type Design.
Model 2
The early Cast iron dizzys are 65mm diameter have an angled bottom. To get a proper bite, you may have to remove the cap clips/ vac can screws. The Fat yellow wire Consenser may need to be unscrewed and swung out of the way, or you can grind 1 Foot thinner to a narrower point, eliminating the potential interference from it and the body casting hump. You may want to use tape or rubber between the arms and body/ badge to prevent marring.
Model 3
The Big Cap 40hp – 80mm Diameter have an angled bottom, but becasue they are a larger diameter makes them a 1 off setup.
I dont have every dizzy VW made, so best to take a look at the type you want to remove before buying.
Slide hammer tool is not included or available from me. you can utilize the free tool rental program offered by Oreillys or other FLAPS. The Yolk is 5/8″ Fine Thread, common to most slide hammers/ puller tools. I know O reillys is 5/8″.
